Kawempe North Member of Parliament Elias Nalukoola has alleged that his personal assistant, Hussein Bitumu, was abducted by unknown individuals, prompting calls for urgent action from security agencies.
According to a statement posted on the MP’s official social media page, Bitumu was reportedly taken from Tula and transported by motorcycle to Namere in Kawempe, where he was transferred into a white vehicle that drove away to an unknown destination.
The MP did not provide details on the identities or motives of the alleged abductors.
“We are working to establish his whereabouts. I urge the public to remain calm as investigations continue,” Nalukoola said in his post.
By press time, security agencies had not issued an official response, and attempts to reach the police for comment were unsuccessful.
The MP’s post has sparked concern among constituents and human rights activists, who are calling for authorities to act swiftly to ensure Hussein’s safety.
Investigations into the alleged abduction are ongoing.
